Because of the current political climate, we wanted the poster to communicate the sentiment of resistance. We decided on a design direction that was ode to the WPA posters, but modernized. I used the chandeliers in the renovated theater as my muse, so as to create a sense of place. The event included spoken word and other artists to take part in the evening. The chandelier, therefore, became playful, youthful and inclusive with microphones, paint brushes and paint drops.
